The Flower Power Association
Soil is the result of eons of planetary evolution — billions of years of the elements weathering rock and more than 425 million years of interactions with complex life. A single inch of fertile topsoil requires centuries to develop. Ferns, azalea in felt pockets, 24 x 30 inches
The plants are installed in felted pocket containers on the wall, in real soil from my garden, and are cared for by me and gallery staff. Hidden in one pocket at ear level is a motion sensor that plays a recording of the story “The Flower Power Association” written and read by me.
